This page describes the data handled by OVW GarageBook and how it is used by the app's features.
Last updated: April 15, 2026
OVW GarageBook helps you track vehicle information, maintenance, fuel, tires, documents, reminders, and related costs. This page explains what data the app handles and how that data is used inside the app.
You can choose to add vehicle details such as make, model, year, VIN, license plate, mileage, services, reminders, tire information, fuel logs, documents, notes, receipts, and photos.
If you create an account, you may also provide account information such as your email address and optional username.
Your data is used to power core app features, including maintenance history, reminders, backup/export, analytics, document tracking, and shared vehicle access.
If cloud sync is enabled and you sign in, your account and garage data may be stored remotely so it can sync across devices and support sharing features.
The app requests access to your camera, photo library, or files only when you choose features that need them, such as attaching receipts, parts photos, or vehicle documents.
Notification permission is used only for reminder notifications.
If you invite another user to a shared vehicle, the data for that vehicle can be viewed or edited according to the access level you grant.
When you use account features, sign in, or share access, relevant data is processed through the configured backend services used by the app.
If you purchase a subscription or a lifetime unlock, payment is processed by Apple via the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment details.
We use RevenueCat to manage entitlements and verify active purchases. RevenueCat may receive an anonymous purchase identifier linked to your account so the app can recognise your subscription across devices.
We use PostHog to collect anonymous usage analytics, such as which features are used most, to improve the app. Analytics events do not include vehicle details, photos, documents, or other personal content you add to the app.
You control the data you enter. You can edit or delete records in the app, export your data from the backup screen, and delete your account from the account settings screen.
Deleting your account is intended to remove your account and your own cars from synced storage. Vehicles shared with you by other users are not owned by you and may remain available to their owners.
The app is intended for general vehicle record keeping and is not designed to collect sensitive personal information. Please avoid storing information you would not want attached to vehicle records or uploaded documents.
This privacy policy may be updated as the app changes. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision included in the app.
